Customer satisfaction remains of utmost priority for Japanese firms

Tokyo, Oct. 6 (ANI): The sixth Yamaha World Technician Grand Prix 2014 was held on October 1 at Yamaha Motor Corporation in Iwata city, Shizuoka, Japan.

This was the world competition for defining the top Yamaha service engineer with profound knowledge and technical skills.

This competition has been held every two years since 2002.

“I promise to compete with “One to one service” in my spirit, put hard effort to achieve the highest results to contribute a successful contest,” said Le Ngoc Tuyen of Yamaha Motor Vietnam.

Twenty mechanics from 18 countries participated in the final contest this year.

In 2001, Yamaha established YTA- Yamaha Technical Academy in the world wide service network as their main education program, and it is currently deployed in 36 countries with 33,000 YTA certified engineers have participated to the World Technician Grand Prix.

The contestants were tested in theory, trouble shooting, repair on actual motorcycles and skill of making relationship with the customer during reception, vehicle delivery and after service.

The contest was designed to judge the engineer’s skill in the areas of proper service knowledge by providing service that communicates the ideas of Yamaha products and providing hospitable customer service.

The winners are decided based on cumulative points earned in three test areas.

The champion of the commuter model class this year was won by Meenakshi Sunderam Subramanyam from India, and Tomas Candela Sanchez from Spain for the sports model class.

“I believe I achieve from my hard work, thanks to YTA for this grateful opportunity,” said Meenakshi Sunderam Subramanyam of Yamaha Motor India Sales.

The host of 2020 Olympic Games, Tokyo, is witnessing a rise in tourist inflow.

Last year, over ten million tourists visited the city.

To satisfy the foreign tourists, Chubu Centrair International Airport started the new service – “Tourist Information and

Service” in association with Yamato Transport Company.

“Tourist Information and Service of Yamato provides sightseeing service for foreign tourist and after keeping their luggage tourist can go to the hotel of Aichi, Mie, Gifu region. It has started in October,” said Yohei Miyahara, Building and Town Management Section, Yamato Transport Co. Ltd.

New foreign airlines are launched at Chubu Centrair International Airport one after the other.

“Air Asia launched Kuala Lumpur line and Cebu Pacific Airline between Manila. Hong Kong Express Airline launched in September. Increasing flight of China Airline between Taipei and continuous flight of ANA are confirmed in October. Philippines Airline between Cebu and JAL Bangkok line in December, Garuda Indonesia Airline between Jakarta will launch in next April,” said Takehito Tachi of Central Japan International Airport Company Ltd.

“It is the rush of new airline. According to this rush foreign tourist visiting Chubu Centrair International Airport will increase steadily,” added Tachi.

Chubu Centrair International Airport has started free hand tour service to accelerate sightseeing for Chubu Hokuriku area.

The tourist information and service counter located at the second floor provides tourism guide by multilingual staff and luggage delivery service.

The delivery service currently, is limited to Aichi, Mie, Gifu prefecture, but it will expand more in the near future. (ANI)
